If you live in a high salt winter environment your ranch hand or any other powder coated one will be rusty in 2 years, that's why I went aluminum. I live in North Dakota, no issues with salt

Ranch Hand bumpers are top quality products and I believe they're second to none.

I have the Ranch Hand Grille Guard combined with a Curt Reciever. The Curt comes with two pairs of spacers for use where the reciever attaches to the truck frame, only one pair is needed as the Ranch Hand serves as the other.

Currently I have a front receiver hitch and a light bar on my truck, I can't say that I am crazy about the receiver hitch as it sets pretty low under the truck. The light bar is a nice solid mounting bar bracket for mounting tabs for 4 individual lights.

I'm driving myself crazy trying to decide if I want to change over to the Ranch Hand Guard. I don't think that I can leave the receiver hitch attached in tandem with the RH Guard.

Do I need the guard, no not really. Do I want it, maybe. Guess what it comes down to is being so satisfied with my truck I feel the need to keep adding to it or changing features on it.

What to do, what to do?

Thank you for that information. With both the Ranch Hand Grille and the Curt receiver hitch in place that will add frontal impact protection both high and low. Though I hope to never find out just how much protection it will provide.

Looks like 289# - according to the Ranch Hand website - which is probably 249# heavier than stock! I like it!!!

While we are discussing Ranch Hand bumper replacements here is my current rear bumper and my 2011 SD that was just picked up and thrown backwards 15' into a van behind me after the tractor trailer full of frac sand cut across my front end while I was stopped at a red light. Minimal damage to the front of my truck and no damage to the rear. I hate to think about what would have happened if I didn't have the Ranch Hands.

Ranch Hand Grille Guard installed today. My back is killing me, but I got some quality time in with my SIL. I think it looks great and is extremely stout, it sure ain't going no where as it lower section is attached to anchor points at the frame. Lightest hardware is 1/2" bolts.
I like the over all look, as it adds just enough black to the chrome bling on the rest of the truck.

I love my "bambi slayer". Very solid bumper, It took a fork lift to install it.
