Couple Can't Name Child Osama Bin Laden
I read this yesterday in the news. My reaction was that the local media should post their name and address. Let the public decide what the baby's name should be after the parents are 6 feet under. It's not the baby's fault the parents are sick in the head.

It just prove once again that some people have air space between their ears.

I agree! I could just imagine how many would'nt be allowed to reproduce.
>Yah, I know the system would end up doing more harm then
>good.
Mabye but look at the money this country would save in welfare alone.

I find it interesting that a german court can stop this bit of stupidity but here in the good ole USA we can send a child through school with the name "#####anya". I met the girl. Jeesh, what were her parents thinking? Of course here you could probably name a child "Satan" and be thought of as being "thoughtful" and "inclusive". I only have one word for people who saddle their children with goofball names..."#####anya". It starts with an "S".(thanks for the edit )

Couple Can't Name Child Osama Bin Laden
I hate to buck the trend here, but what gives the government a right to tell someone what they can name their child? Is this a trampling the very freedoms Bin Laden wants to take away? Yeah, the parents may be stupid, but governments shouldn't regulate stupidity.
How would you feel if the US government said you couldn't name your child John, Jesus (as many Hispanics do), Mohammad, etc.? Freedom, IMHO, gives us the right to have unpopular opinions. I may not agree with the KKK, the Black Panthers or the NAACP but they have a right to their opinions. Lets not forget what freedom is even though the Germans apparently have (look at their history!)....

Ken,
I agree wholeheartedly with you on your point about freedom.
I think if this law were researched it would probably show that it is there so no one would give their child a name of one of the prominent ****'s. "Martin Boorman", or "Himmler", or "Hitler" etc.. After the war trials and subsequent executions, the criminals remains were burned and then scattered in the Rhine river so there would be no grave to make martyrs out of these ghastly criminals. There are laws in Germany against any kind of memorial or shrine to those people.
As you can imagine some deranged idiot would see things their way and want to call them "great leaders".
You're right. I don't want the government in my life any more than neccessary.
You have disgusting, scum-bucket people in each society though, and it appears this couple fits the bill nicely.
