Parts buying question...

I prefer Amazon for most things and use it all the time.
If you are asking because you want to start selling on them, one advantage Amazon has is fba (fulfillment by Amazon). You ship the stuff to them and they hold it and send it out when it sells. That would be great if you have something you sell pretty frequently. You just make the listing, send it to them and then collect checks.

I have used E-bay before, I just started using the Amazon system.
Seems way more complicated, and I don't feel like I am getting the results that E-bay has given. I was thinking that maybe Amazon strength is not in auto parts as they are with CDs, DVD, books stuff like that.
That's why I am curious on how people buy.

. I prefer to deal direct with the small guy... but some are unscrupulous...
. So, Amazon, eBay, and now Sears as well, are go-betweens between the buyer and millions of small unknown sellers and helps offer a layer of protection to the buyer against the unscrupulous sellers... the ones who just take people's money and never actually ship anything... I assume Amazon, eBay, and Sears have the resources to check out a seller and their products and references before offering them on their website... and block further business from ones who fail to deliver and blackball them...
. I also use Summit since it's just a couple hours from here... and has free shipping... I'd prolly also use Jegs, except Summit always seems to beat or match them... although Jegs is also close...
. And I buy from many others if they seem trustworthy... if someone can vouch for them...

How long have you been selling on Amazon? It's important to have good descriptions and photos. You can also use html in the listing itself to make them nicer.
I did a quick search of "ford 400 pistons" and didn't see a listing from you through page 8 (unless you are selling under a different name on amazon).
Another thing that helps your amazon listing is how many sales you have. You may ask people to buy through amazon for a while and leave reviews to get established.
If you post some links to your listings I'd be happy to take a look at them and see if I can offer anything to help.
I also have a photo studio in my shop if you need help with any photos.
