Flatbed ideas

Hello all and Happy Thanksgiving.

I have a 1978 F 150 custom that has a bed from a camper special on her. She has been a good worker for me this last year and I am looking at flatbed options. The bed that's on her is in good shape, no major dents and nothing other than surface rust on the bed.

I live in southern MO. I know there are a ton of dealers around and can buy new, but I don't want to spend that kind of dough when I am just doing basic chores. I am flexible on flatbed requirements (tool boxes, etc).

Anyone see a flatbed they thought looked good? Or can point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance

Wow! I think I visited with him online last year, but he was out of the country (I'm not 100% on that).

I will go through that post. Thanks a bunch!

Edmed how abut this for a monster HD flat bed? Width wise it will stick past the cab by 4" or 6". Stop on by the Missouri chapter, and or PM me about it.

lol Here is what is right across from the Army bed....and here is what it came off of, just a parts truck the breathed life into to other fellow FTE members trucks.

I plan on it going on the back end of ol red someday.

I have seen pics of your barn/shop front and side yard, I remember seeing some nice things setting there too.

Yep, that's pretty much what I'm looking for. Where is the MO chapter located?

Well there is no "persay" chapter location...or club house/shop/garage. lol

We are just a state chapter or a section on FTE. Here is where we all wrench bend and where we call home.

There has been a few G2G (get to gathers) over the years at the 4Wheel Jamboree and at the Zoo-park in Springfield. And then one or 2 at Alan's (earthquake68's) shop in Sparta.

http://www.springfieldmo.org/events/...nationals-2015

Hamburgers-hot dogs-bacon patties-soda/tea and always a wife and kid safe environment.

There is no secrete knock to get access to the Mo chapter monthly chat and BS thread.

Just click the link, at the end of the month watch for the link to the new thread.

Here is a picture of my flatdeck, it's nothing special by any means. Simple design, no side boxes, aluminum checker plate sides with some marker lights, really easy to build (I built it in my garage in a week for around $650.

I made it mostly to learn how to weld properly and with the purpose of being a hunting/bush truck. I made a winch mount back there..
