Aftermarket headlights, do the clear housings make any difference over stock?

1.yes.don't forget to inspect/repair the headlight switch harness.
2.i didn't need any silicone on either of my sets.well sealed.the depot lights may be cheap, but well sealed you can say about them.the most lacking aspect of them is their hardware.the more of the oem mounting clips/screws you can use,the better.
3.i never did that part.didn't need any extra light after new lenses and relays.

questions....
I removed my drivers side headlight assembly. After unplugging the headlight plug I found the 3 wires, red, green, and black.
However, I don't see where the black is grounded in back of headlight bucket as suggested in the how to article? All 3 wires go into in a larger loom and the black wire doesn't appear to exit to a ground.
1. Where is this ground?
2. Also, the new headlight plug I purchased has 3 wires...all black. How do I know which one is high, low, and ground?
Thanks

Thanks Eaker!
Now....
1. Do I ground the each headlight plug to a suitable ground inside the engine compartment somewhere?
2. I understand now that the oem ground exits loom at passenger side and grounds at post near battery. If I cut the ground at drivers side, what will I do with the end that goes into loom and the end from the plug? Connect them together?
3. I am using 2 Bussman type fuse holders with 20 amp fuses (1 for high beam relay and one for low beam relay)...will these be OK instead of a fuse block? My relays are rated at 40 amps.
Thanks

20 amp fuses will be fine. I think 15 amp is what they run off of in the factory setup. You won't be drawing as much amperage as the original setup because you have separated hi from lo so realistically 15 amp per relay would be more than enough, but I always go just a tad more but not so much as to burn the wires before the fuse blows.
