Hey yall I just got an 87 f250 4x4 four speed with a 302 my clutch wont engage completely making it hard to **** an I cant put in first or reverse without grinding hard n slamming it in any ideas bc I didnt see a bleeder screw on The external slave
is there any slop in the pedal itself ... as in 2"-3" of play before you feel any resistance ? pedal not lifting back up all the way without help from your toe ?
another place to look is where the master cyl. mounts to the firewall . these trucks are known to develop some flex at that point and there is a reinforcement available that cures it. for this you will need a helper to watch the firewall while you depress the clutch pedal.
is there any slippage going on while you are driving ... particularly going up a slight incline in 3rd gear ?
as for bleeding, there's no reason to think that air got into the system unless it was opened up.
Yes the pedal has a few inches of play before when I press the clutch pedal its doesnt let me shift into gear with out grinding and forcing it in sometimes its harder to shift then . Others ill cjeck what you said n git back to you
