According to my buddy its not bad enough to register as a misfire but it is there. His suggestion is that I probably have one or two injectors that are not up to snuff and he recommended getting a full set since they would have subpar performance if the flowrates were mismatched.
This is Brent of Brent's diesel in Rosenberg Texas. He helps me with the diagnosis for free knowing that I am going to fix it myself so there is really nothing for him to gain by making me buy unnecessary parts. He is just a good guy that is so busy that he really doesn't need my truck taking up a parking spot at his shop.
You could really benefit from Auto Enginuity and do some testing and checking for yourself. Or you can believe the guy if you trust him. Not saying his diagnosis is wrong or bad, but most of the time in my experience, shops misdiagnose Powerstrokes more often than they get it right. Roland hinted to what you need to check.

At any one time he has way more then 25 powers trikes in line to be worked on. He has nothing to gain because he knows I will fix it myself and we have become friends because of our love of tinkering with this engine. If he is wrong on this one it will be the first time in the two years that I have been in southwest houston. I just cannot see why he would steer me wrong. He even gave me a long lead injector to use to see if that helped my issue. This guy is straight up. I do not know the exact numbers because I didn't know what the heck all that means. In two weeks I will get the AE system from Clay because I decided to keep her. Now all I need to do is find someone to read the codes on my son's 94 ranger.

Whereabouts are you located? I have the AE with Ford Bundle. It's possible that I could read the codes for you and help you out on both trucks. PM me, if you're interested.

have you run any used autotrans fluid through fuel to see if that might help injectors??

The AE system is a computer system used to diagnose problems. The AIS system is the intake. Also I use fuel treatment with every fill up.

I traded my truck in on the truck at the bottom of my signature. I took it to a small independent dealer who always has lifted/nice trucks and goes through them often.
At the time my truck blue booked around $13,500 or so he appreciated everything I had done to the truck and loved the fact that it was a 7.3. He ended up giving me much more then blue book even with the bottom of the front doors rusted away. I had doors I got while I was in Phoenix that were rust free just needed paint and put on that went into the deal too.
My truck once he got the doors on and painted wasn't even on his lot for a week and it was gone. He was asking 19 or so for it. Moral of the story is try the little guys you might get a lot better deal.
