I put 98-02 Expedition brakes on my 99 F150

I finally put the 1998-2002 Expedition front brake on the front of my F150. The cost was pretty much the same as the F150 brakes so I figured why not upgrade. I bought new rotors, pads and rebuilt calipers with brackets for a 2002 Expedition. I also used the flexable lines for the F150.

My old and worn out brakes

2002 expedition rotor with a lug nut sinched up to keep it in place

there are two different pad abutment inserts and one is longer than the other so there will be no mixing them up

caliper bracket with abutment clips in place

Another look at the bracket in place

On go the Wagner ThermoQuiet semi-metallics

2002 Expedition caliper now in place

The fit looks tight with my stock XLT alloys but nothing rubs. g

Here are some picks comparing the calipers and pads.

Interestingly the original F150 calipers had Bosch on them while the Expedition calipers had Ford cast into them.

Looks nice, how's the peddle feel, any noticeable difference in modulation?

At the moment I cant tell because My old brakes sucked but they feel really good. I'll know much better when I start pulling the 28' camper again.
