My back-up lights don't work...

That switch is at the top of the transmission on a T-18. I removed the shifter boot and it was right there. I went to Ford for the switch, they said it was obsolete and they don't make it anymore. I then promptly bought some cheap fog lights from J.C. Whitney and installed them under my rear bumper. They are activated by a rocker switch on the dash. They really light up behind the truck at night. No problems seeing anything behind me. The only problem is you have to manually activate the lights. Good luck.

I've done the same thing as you mako, I have the np435 transmission, does this tranny also have the switch you are talking about. My 1985 f100 doesn't have reverse lights so I figured there was no switch on the tranny. I kinda like the idea of a manual switch on the dash because if some-one is behind you that you know you can "flash" them and get there attention, small things amuse small minds I suppose LOL.

I love the amount of light behind my truck at night while backing into a driveway. Sure beats the the amount of light that the stock back-up lights put out. It is almost like having headlights behind you.
