1967 F100 4x4 Engine Swap

Purchased my 67 F100 with the original 352 in it. Engine was shot so I purchased a used 360 and now the truck is running again. This new motor is running fine for the mean time, but would like to start planning for the future.

I am not looking for high performance, racing, etc.

This truck is used as a daily driver with the occasional off roading. Truck is lifted with 35 inch tires.

Whatever I decide on I plan on keeping as stock as possible. (I am not a fan of aftermarket parts.) All I would like is an engine with enough power to move around my truck, (this stock 360 does it just fine), a little better fuel economy would be nice since its a daily driver, (this 360 gets about 12 MPG), and the most important being reliability. I keep everything stock and take VERY good care of my engines so I would like something that would last as long as I take care of it.

A few people I taked too recommended diesel motors, but I do not know much about them. I am open to anything though.

Budget isn't much of an issue as I am starting to save for whatever engine I decide on now, and this 360 has a decent amount of life left in it.

Any information is much appreciated as I do not know much about engines other than FEs,

Thanks in advance,

Ryan

Come on down to the FE forum, and ask about building a very mild 390 - much better MPGs, more torque, same block so it'll bolt in, and you can use your 360 (or another one) as a donor block, you just need rods and crankshaft.

A little compression and a decent mild cam, and it'll run forever and be fun to drive.

Good luck
