Ford makes 2 tipes of transmissions
"Ford HD Reman" was stamped on the TC. John said was "an HD rebuild", but it only lasted about 80k miles. I bought the truck and the trans had been replaced at 140k. I bought the truck with 180k on it and have put 40k miles on it since purchase. Hope this helps. I just hate to see people buy another trans from Ford when the product is not near the quality as a JW or BTS. Anyone that knows these trucks even a just little bit goes to JW or BTS for an auto trans. There is a reason for that.
Ford hd transmission is here , will b install tomorrow
I'm sure you already know this but I just want to give a friendly reminder. Make sure you put at least a couple of qts. of ATF in tc. Lube the input hub and seal on the tc Make sure the input shaft installed all the way and torque converter is installed correctly and seated before bolting the trans to motor. Because if it slips out when lifting the trans and becomes unlocked from the pump gears and you install it to the motor the tc hub will destroy the pump.

There is no need to do this. I think the risk of taking the converter off and reinstalling it is much worse than anything that could possible happen by not putting oil in the converter.
At the assembly plant where these transmissions are built they are installed on the trans without adding oil.

Right.
You should install a small hold down clamp to hold the convertor in.
Transmission is installed , to my surprise the transmission had fluid already.
Shifts gears very smooth on all gears and tunes.
Only one thing my ISSPRO gauge is reading higer temp than it seems ,190 not towing towing 210
Glad you got it installed. But that does seem to be alittle high temp wise for this time of year unless where you live it is in the 80's* or higher. Did your reman trans come with a bypass tube or did you reuse the stock one and you did replace the trans cooler if I recall correctly you were going to?
The transmission tempeture gauge is actin up , is showing higer temps than it is and jumping when when I hit a pot hole
Have a new trans cooler, and a new bypass.

Well I am glad to hear it is just a gauge issue. But that sure doesn't give you a piece of mind when you are trying to monitor trans temp. So I hope you get it straightened out. I had an issue once with my AutoMeter trans gauge and I sent it to them and they replaced it with a new one. Mine was reading 30* to cool. So hopefully ISSPRO will work with you if it isn't a wiring issue.
