Hey guys so I have a 98 f150 2wd with the 4.2l. I got it for free. It had been sitting in the mud and grass for a few yrs. The trans was leaking like a siv. So I just orderd a rebuilt and installed it. Then had a caliber seize up and warp a rotor so I replaced both front rotors and calipers and wheels bearing. Still had a bad vibration so I put some new rubber on it and balances the tires. When driving down the road at low speeds 30-50 km/hr there is a slight howling. Then when I hit 80 + km/hr it starts vibrate. If i let off the throttle it shutters. It's not enough to think O **** some things going to blow but it's more enough to know somethings wrong. I changed the diff oil. Was nice and clean I had a bit of play on the drivers out side rear axle bearing so changed it. Still there any thoughts?
Thoughts....thoughts!
Must have been abandon for a reason.
The lesson is.... even when you get something for nothing it's still not free.
Look at what your investing to bring it back to usefulness.
It may turn out in the end to cost more than the truck is worth.
Good luck with the project.
