Hello im new to this forum but i need some advice I have a 2002 f250 7.3 4x4 it all started about three weeks ago i started up my truck in 90 degree weather and it cranked for awhile but didnt think anything of it. When i was driving with no load it lost all power then it had rough idle like if it was cammed with a lope idle. I turned around and went back home once i got home it completed died just turned off by itself so i tried turning it on and it would crank and crank alot until it starts. I left it untouched for about two days then tried to start it up again and it cranked a couple of times then fired right up but then started to idle weird the rpm guage was high low high low for a couple of seconds i floor the pedal and it runs fine then it dies. My friend put his computer on it and it displays an exhaust sensor. I then youtube and figured it must be the fuel filters or the sending unit fuel filter, so i replaced all which were very clogged but then tried starting it again and the problem is the same now it doesnt even start up just cranks. We placed the computer on it again and now reads IDM. I want to know could this be the problem I dont want to spend $300 and for that not to be the solution!!!i made a youtube video of the first days Please help sorry its long
Do a search for UVCH or under valve cover harness. Then do a search for 50 cent mod. The uvch is how the injectors get the signal from the IDM. Its pretty common for the plug under the valve cover to work its way off. When mine worked loose, I had an intermittent miss. I check the code and it was showing #2 injector high to low side open. Then it got worse, so I pulled the codes again and it then showed #2 and 4. I was in the middle of nowhere at the time, so I pulled the valve cover and pushed it back in to get me home and did the 50 cent mod a week later.
I also noticed in your video that you're low on fuel. Its possible the pick up foot broke off in the tank, but you said you cleaned that, so prpbably not. Hope this helps.

Everything I know, I learned from reading these forums. There is a huge wealth of info here and some pretty smart contributors.
When you get the problem fixed, make sure you post the fix here to help others with the same symptoms.
Welcome to the forum.
thanks man i sure will ill try that quarter trick tomorrow morning and post the results hopefully it works i love my beast it runs strong and pulls hard
update on my truck well i put my buddies IDM and still same thing, i opened up the valve covers and checked the injector harness connections and they were tightly connected so im in a dead stop i dont know what it could be now!!!!!!
Glow plugs would be my first place to look with the way it sounded when starting in the video. You said you changed the fuel filter, how about the filter screens in the tank? Have you checked them? But you said it runs fine when warmed up though.
Just read back through the thread and I see you did check the tank.
What about the Cam sensor? Have you changed that? If so, what sensor are you using? Ford and International brands are the only ones we've found to be reliable.
