Start-No Start

So I have a 1995 F250 Powerstroke that recently starting acting up. Wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.

It will start and run just fine first thing in the morning, but if I shut it off and try to restart it a few minutes later it just cranks and cranks and cranks. If I let it sit for a couple hours it will start right up again and the process repeats. I thought fuel filter but have replaced that with no change in condition. I figure it is fuel or electrical but not sure where to look next.

No, it seems that there is no fuel being injected at all.

I talked to a local guru and he said I may be getting one of my fuel lines vapor locked due to heat exposure. Which kind of made sense to me since I know of a small exhaust leak. Is that even possible?

That's it...if you do not have good IPR seals then the hot oil bypasses the IPR.it takes a minimum of 500psi of high pressure oil to operate the injectors. No oil=no fuel...the IPR controlls the pressure of the high pressure side. The ICP gives feed back on how much pressure is being generated and tells the pcm ...the pcm in turn varies the IPR to change the pressure up or down..

Thanks Fordman67, that explanation helped me understand how bad seals would give me the symptoms I am seeing!! Now I just need to find me one of those 29mm axle sockets I've been reading about. Thanks again for all the help.

Well, it looks just like an O2 sensor socket, but this is what you are looking for!
