Lower radiator hose
Replaced radiator in the 1998 Expedition. Lower radiator hose is sure a different cat to skin. After I got the right sized channel lock wrench on it (big one) it twisted and I was able to pry it off. Changed rad and went to put it back on. Used emery cloth to polish the metal inside the hose where the o-rings ride then lubed with Vaseline couldn't get it to catch. Finally pried the 4 tabs up just a bit and was able to get it to catch. Hope this sucker holds together. Not sure this is one of Ford's better ideas. Just passing on my take on doing the lower hose.

You're right, it's no fun. I just cut the band off and replaced the hose and hose clamp with a SS typical 5/16 screw drive type.
Not sure what they were thinking with this concept.
A dealer only removal hose?
