Question about problem with my fuel pump

So a few days ago i was driving back from OK city to arkansas through that little snow storm, managed to get home alright. Truck handled nicely in four wheel drive in the snow without surprise (i cant helped to brag about my truck, i truly love it). Parked it that night. Went to work for a 24 hour shift and came back to the truck completely dead. Although...i heard a strange noise. I believe it happens to be my fuel pump and it never seemed to turn off, eventually killing my battery. Keys were out of the ignition. I am not a mechanic ( guns are my thing, but i am trying to learn other things) by no means and being that i rely on that truck as my daily driver i am trying to get a quick response. Searching for a few hours on the internet has done me no good. I would also admit that my google-fu is not the strongest either. Not to mention that this is my first ever post on this sight so i am desperate for help from you fine gentlemen and ladies (i'm sure there are a few out there).

I would check your battery and alternator first.

I also need to mention the the truck will hold a charge and turn over. When I kill it and pull the keys out, the fuel pump is still going until the battery dies.

That is very strange. I don't know if that could be caused by a bad FPDM, but it's worth checking, as you have snow, which means you are likely in a corrosion prone environment.

That would be an easy repair if it's the cause of your problem.

Yep that was it. Thanks. I guess that snow finally did it in.

Well, thanks to Minton, we now know another interesting symptom of fuel pump driver module failure. I think it probably would be worthwhile buying one of those to have on hand for those who drive in salt.
