It is. The 9' Express beds have two stake pockets above the fender on each side, the 8' Express beds used on F-250s have one each side. This one looks like an honest old truck. Clean paper too. Stu

Looks familiar! My 9' flareside started as CL ad when I was passing through Spokane Wa a few years back. Just the bed, made into a trailer. Lights, hitch, title. All that was left to do was just clip it on my trailer ball and go. I let my wife fill it up at antique shops on the way home. Of course then I needed to find a 60" Cab to axle truck to mount it on..... I would love to see someone here buy this. Mine tracks straight as an arrow down the interstate with that long wheelbase. Maybe a bit steep on the price unless the mileage is correct. I wonder what those tires are 19.5s???? Thanks very much for sharing this.

Yes, they do appear to be the 19.5" six lug tubeless. Stu

It looks like that has the bigger F500-600 front fenders. I'm looking at this F600 and thinking to use the cab with a 8 foot bed I have. Maybe on a 79 F250 4x4 frame. I was wondering how the bigger fender cutouts would look on a pickup
57 ford truck

I think all the F350s used the big truck fenders. They look ok with tall tires like this truck's 19.5s or on mine I used 255 x 85 x 16's which measure about 33" OD. They are harder to find than the normal 235 x 85 x 16, but 2" taller and when circumference is figured in that's a bit more than 6" additional ground covered with every revolution of the tire = higher gearing. You will have some speedometer error, so watch it in town and school zones. I like your idea about the f 250 frame. There is a local kid here who did a '65 cab and bed on a 79 f250 4x4 chassis when he was 18. Well I guess He isn't a kid now, but I sat with him on the ferry last month and he said that was about 15 years ago and he has done 5 more very similar swaps since and sold them. His first one was very stock looking, I wish I had a picture. Here's mine with the 255s, and it's had a few extra leaves up front to make it sit more level.

Gary, I had a 57 F-350 cab and chassis a while ago that had the same "pickup" fenders you have. It had the 6 lug 16" stock rims too. I also had a 59 F-500 cab and fenders, which were the same as the Craigslist truck in this post. It had bigger rims and tires, but I forget what they were. I bought it for the cab only. (maybe some 45 years ago, Hah)

GB did you ever have a set of those ultra rare 19.5 3/4 ton wheels? I've only ever seen maybe 3-4 sets of them.
On the 79 chassis, they need to be shortened. I did a 72 onto a 77 chassis and the newer chassis was 2 inches longer making the rear wheel not center in the wheel well. Or you have to slide the bed back and leave a bigger gap. It would be even more on a 57-60 body because they were a shorter wheelbase yet. Also the frames got 2 inches wider in the later trucks, probably 73 for the 2wd and 1/2 tons and late 77 on the F250 4x4, so you have to improvise the bed mounts too because the holes in the bed don't line up over the frame.

So, Tony are you saying my fenders on the F350 are pickup fenders or big truck fenders? I have really never checked out how to tell the difference. I was thinking they are the same as my F600......Never had the 19.5s with 8 lugs. Well actually my gm/grumman stepvan has 8 lug 19.5s, but they are duallys. Does that count? When doing the measuring concerning mounting my '47 1/2 ton on the landcruiser frame, I also would need to stretch the frame 2" to center the rear wheel. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the raised hump section in the wagon's frame was plenty long enough that All I'd need to do would be to slide the leaf spring mounts 2" rearward on the frame and bolt them up. Would that be possible with the fords you're talking about? I read a lot here on welding frames that makes it seem like risky business. I'm still learning as I go with welding, and I tend to load my trucks up and use them hard. Last thing I want to see in my rear view mirror is the back half of my truck swerving all over the road.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you could slide the rear axle ahead some. I guess welding a frame doesn't intimidate me, I've welded lots of big truck frames over the years. You just need to know how to plate them right so you don't have a direct fracture line across the frame.

I have been trying to figure out the 57-60 wheel lip question for a while now. From what I have seen is 3 different fenders. Small opening wide lip=1/2 ton. Large opening wide lip= F250 and F350 2wd or 4wd. Different wheels would call for different lip fenders, factory 16in wheels got the wide lip, 19.5 wheels got the narrow lip. I always thought my 60 4x4 just had a big truck front clip since it had narrow fenders but then I seen another factory 4x4 with narrow lip fenders and assume both came with either 17.5 or the bigger 19.5 wheels from the factory.

Then my 60

And yes those are budd 71410 19.5 wheels with 8x19.5 bias traction tires. And I am lucky enough to have 2 full sets But keep in mind, this info is just what I have come up with from what I have seen while looking around. Not based on facts from books.

I think yours are pickup fenders.

I wish I had some better pics but my truck has fenders from a '59 F600. It's hard to get a good reference since nothing is aligned quite right and the suspension isn't sitting quite right. The F600 fenders don't look bad but they are definitely pretty thin.

The next 3 pics are all the same f600 fenders that are currently on my truck

The next two pics are pickup fenders(the black truck is an F250 and the red one is an F350) both seem to have the same thicker fenders.
