Great Van, love the color. Great shot of it popping up over that rise, with wheels up!
I have a '95 4x4 7.3 camper, with a UJOR 4" lift that I've been enjoying for 3yrs.
I recently tore apart the front end for what turned into a major rebuild.
Did you find a solution for the long turning radius? I ask because Chris now sells a crossover steer kit that eliminates the drag ling angle and bump steer. I think he has different pitman arms to go along with it, that might help with turning radius. I haven't had mine on the road yet, but soon.
No solution yet... I'm still working in Afghanistan, so I don't get much opportunity to play around with the van. Thanks for the info. UJOR has top quality stuff. I will have to inquire with Chris about changing the steering.
Not sure of all the differences, but one of the tuner co. reps told me that boost had to be kept lower due to heat. The Turbo downtube in the E's is a smaller diameter then the F's.
Nice van! The real restriction on any 7.3 diesel is at the turbo outlet. The 7.3 vans don't have any intercooler (except for 3-4 that have been highly modified). The newer style front end leaves enough room for the 6.0 intercooler, but the rest includes moving the under hood battery, switching over to the 2nd of the double alternators, etc. to make room for fabricated intercooler pipes. The stock 7.3 vans used a larger turbo A/R than the trucks to help compensate for the heat. That's one of the reasons that the vans are tuned about 80hp less than trucks with the same engine. With the correct modifications to lower EGT's, you can add the 80hp back with good tunes like DPTuner, as long as you watch your gauges. Next thing to worry about after that is the torque converter. I think the 2002-2003's came with a triple disc torque converter. Glad to see you got it dirty and had time to enjoy it!

It turns out that my steering stabilizers were limiting my steering. I changed the center mounting point, moving each side out about 2 inches to allow for more travel in the stabilizer arms. Made a huge difference. I don't have to start planning turns a 1/4 mile in advance anymore...
Hi just curious how happy you were with the work crows did? I am considering buying an E350 that they converted. Any info is much appreciated.
Overall, I've been quite happy. The fab work could be cleaner, but I've pushed mine pretty hard a few times and haven't gotten anything to break. Axles and t-case on mine came from an 07 F350, so no issues there.
Complaints:
There are a lot of stuff on the exterior of mine that were powder coated. They aren't bad, but it seems like maybe it was a little thin, as I am seeing very light surface rust in some of the nooks and crannys. The steering was lousy, but I finally am happy, after replacing the gear box, and moving the steering stabilizers. Crows mounted them with the arms extended too far, which limited the steering at full lock. Would I buy it again? Yes. However, if money is less of an object, there are companies that do better fabrication work. Good luck!

How many miles did you purchase the van with and if you don't mind me asking what did you pay for it?

No offense to Crows4x4 (aka Javier) but amongst those who do conversions for a living his work is not highly regarded. For starters, he sends the vans to Mexico for the conversion. One school of thought would be to avoid a hacked together budget build because it might not be safe (think lifted cinder block hurtling down the interstate at 75 mph).
Ive just bought this. It was brought over by an american military officer who used it while stationed in Australia. It has the 460ci.
its been stored for a long time so im going to restore it
