I have a heater problem and have read other threads and not sure which way to go. I have replaced the heater core, many thermostats and flushed the system many times. I am not getting enough heat in the truck. The guage always is consistant and reads in the lower normal range. Thermo temp range I am using is 195. Sometimes I hear a gurgling sound in the area of the heater core from inside the truck. Suspected air pockets and did what I thought was needed to make sure the core was full of coolant. Both hoses feel hot going into core from engine side but outlet hose it a lot cooler down the line a bit. Have flushed core by itself and have good flow (remember, it's new). Is the heat/cool plenum door a mech. activated device or is it electrically activated? My truck has A/C. When I activate cool/heat dial I can hear the door activating...do I need to check to make sure it is opening and closing completely? I need help...it's getting cold out here...
I have to do the same thing...it may be activating the actuator but if the door is broken it wont move. Getting cold here also, i need to get mine open to the hot postion even if its just for the winter.
I have replaced t stat with genuine Ford 192, flushed htr core one more time, and refilled system with coolant. Still lukewarm air in cab. If I take glovebox out and feel heater core it is hotter than hot to touch...so apparently it isn't getting blown into my cab. As I look at door actuater while I operate it at switch everything appears to be functioning as required. I can hear it making contact inside and can feel the temp change as I go from blue to red. It's just that the red area ain't hot enough!! Is there something keeping door from closing? What is my next step?
