The other morning on my way to work, I blindly reached down to plug in cell phone charger and the 12v cap wouldn`t come off, looked down to see I was pulling on the 4x4 selecter **** by mistake. But I did notice it does pull out with a distinct click. Anyone with an idea why. This is on a 2014,go ahead give yours a yank and see if you can figure out why they do that. Thanks, Pit Crew
I agree the newer F150's have the same setup. I believe I read the truck limits the speed in lock to 25 mpg or something. Next time you hop in the truck pull it out an see if the word lock appears near your 4x4 light. There should be little axle like icons next to the **** if you have it.
Thanks guys, don`t think I have that option as nothing lit up as I was pulling on it. Unless it was because I was going faster than the speed where its functional. I`m going to go out now and put my plow on for the snow they have for casted. I`ll check it out and let you know.
the e-locker will only engage below 25mph. Does the face of the rotary **** say "pull" and have an icon of a rear axle with an "X" on it? Either way you didn't hurt anything, on my old truck I accidently engaged the 4wd at highway speeds while on dry pavement and didn't hurt anything.
Well the plow is on,and yes I have the differential lock option and didn`t even know it, thanks guys. Fordman, yes there is a pic of rear axel on the ****. Didn`t even pay that much attention t om it. Haven`t used 4 wheel drive yet. Got the truck in March, plow also. Loking forward to using it. the **** dosen`t say pull.
