Duel gas tank problems

I have a 95 f250 with duel gas tanks. when im using my rear tank, the front tank will slowly fill up with gas from the rear tank. is this normal? what could be causing this? also when i start the truck with the front gas tank, there is a starting problem where it takes a while to start and when it does start up, its pretty rough for a few seconds. when i start with the rear tank it has no problems. also when im driving with the front tank theres no problems.

Normal, no. But common. There's a check valve in the Fuel Delivery Module (FDM) in each tank. The check valve in your front FDM is leaking. The fix is to replace the FDM in that tank.

thanks for the link and part, i imagine i have to drop the tank out to get to the FDM, dropping the tank is not to hard but how hard is it to replace the check valve its self? am i able to just replace the valve in the module or do i have to replace the whole module? im guessing that having a bad check valve is why it doesn't want to start right away due to the pressure going back into the tank, thanks

Dropping and them reinstalling the tank are the hard parts of the job. Doing that generally takes me most of a Saturday. Actually replacing the FDM is maybe 15 minutes once the tank is out.
