On a 96 EB F150, How do you tell whether it is a 16 or 19 gal. tank. I need to replace the fuel delivery module. It has had the problem with the rear tank filling the front and was manageable by just selecting the rear when the front was empty, but the sender has failed on the front tank.
If it is a 116.8" wheel base, 4X2 it is 16.3 gal. If it's a 133" wb, 4X2 it is 19 gal. If it's a 133" wheel base, 4X4, then 19 gal. I am assuming your truck is a regular cab. BTW, the rear tank on all '96 F150's is 18.2 gal.
It has an extended cab and I believe, a short bed. It's an Eddie Bauer XLT. I had just replaced the illumination and TS lamps with LED's and the front tank's gauge that had been slowly failing, completely failed and the rear failed also. I had to take the instrument cluster back out and found the left connector had unlatched at the bottom. got that fixed. The rear gauge works fine. the front continued to peter out. This time I found a dial cord stringer tool someone had left in the dash when they did the shift indicator.
You can check the wheel base on the door jam sticker. You also haven't said yet if it's 4x4 or not. Once that info is known, I can verify how many gallons the midship tank is.
