Thank you Money-Pit for posting the videos, best description of the test. Making a long story short wished I'd of done it when it was first mentioned to me in my thread. Would have got me going in the right direction alot sooner. I'm not a professional mechanic nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn Express as another person has but it is such an easy test and lets you know the mechanical side of the injectors health quickly.

Thank you bismic for the suggestion. Totally worth a try now, and for the price I don't think it's a bad idea.
I think I used 800 and brake cleaner. I think I have 4k miles on it now. No issues at all

Thanks for the heads up!

Holy....thanks money-Pitt these vids totally cleared a lot for me. I actually went through and watched all 6 that were made. Total reps coming your way.

Update: I went ahead and performed the bubble test. Following all steps I monitered to see if any bubbles were escaping through the stand pipe in the middle of the bowel and all was good. I performed it three times (waiting almost 10 mins between tests) and got passing results every time! So I've concluded that mechanically my injectors are seated proper and aren't allowing any compression to escape through.

Now my next steps will be to polish the spool valves and run Archoil.

It's just occurred to me, is it possible for this intermittent long cranking to be due to failing nipple cup o-rings and injector top o-rings? I ruled this out originally because the shop told me that all pressure on the oil side was perfect, but I thought I would run it by you guys.

Why not just swap injector from one side to the other, see if the problem follows the injector or not?

Because according to my results from my power balance test performed at the shop I went to, #2 is starting to fail, and #4,#6 and #8 have failed completely. So by swapping them over to the other side I would just be moving the problem all together. Thus not solving the issue of why I'm getting periodic long starts.

So before I go and spend $1200 on 4 injectors I'm going to clean them and see if that solves anything.

You say #8 is totally failed, so move it across, and redo the test. just the 1 injector will provide insight.

If you polish the spools there is no reason to run any additive

Sorry I ment to say, I would polish first test to see if it helps and run additive if needed.

I'll have to give it a try then. Swap over one of the injectors and then have them test again.
