Hey fellas. I have a question for you all, but it comes with a little back story. Currently, I have an early 1977 f250. disc brakes, 4.11, 4 speed, 351m
But the box is rotted off, the seat sucks, interior is falling apart. Its a hunting truck by far, but I can't ever leave well enough alone. I started thinking "how about a body swap for a 57-66 ford pickup?" I do like both of those body styles, and the update would give me the good 4x4 system of a highboy, disc brakes, etc. I know I would need to drill holes in the bed, relocate some body mounts, etc, but that isn't a big deal to me. I can handle it just fine. What I want to know is if anyone has attempted this? Also, am I crazy? is there a better system out there/better combination I should look at assembling? I am a mechanical engineering student, and I need to disassemble/rebuild everything I can to feed my addiction Any thoughts are appreciated.
The earlier highboys shared the very same chassis as the 67-77.5 highboys, i.e. 34" wide ladder style frame, divorced t-case, positive arched front spring pack, front crossmember, tall factory stance, etc.
