I own a 1993 F-150 4x4 351w E4OD. I was wondering what sorts of things I can do to greatly improve my throttle response. The truck is pretty much
stock except for I installed a K&N airfilter and I have slightly adjusted my exhaust system (cut off the muffler and piping up to the cats.) I just recently gave it a tune up. Please help. I am willing to spend alot but would prefer cheaper methods(DUH)!

well increasing the timing is a free mod and it definitely helps. however you should run higher octane after you make the adjustment. bump it up to 14*. youll feel it.
I can vouch for the 14 degree advance. I even got a bit better mpg with it. Another mod you might consider, it's free, is the TPS mod. I did it to my 93 5L and noticed an improvement too.

What TPS "Mod" are you referring to?? Replacing it with a Mustang adjustable maybe? What should the idle voltage be set at? .95 volts??
Give us the scoop! Please!
I have the 351 and it responds pretty good. The only thing I've done is bore out the airbox and drop in a K&N. I've also put new plugs, wires, rotor, and cap about 1500 miles ago. The exhaust is si/so w/cheap Y into duals. I'm going to junk it soon as I actually think it has dropped my low-end power.
Ok, I need some help here. I have a timing gun but I can't find the timing marker. It's been a while since I've messed with timing but I thought the marker would be on/near the crankshaft pulley. Right? I have a 94 351w, can anyone tell me where the timing mark is? I have the serpentine (sp?) belt and you almost can't see the crank pulley except from just off center to the left standing at the front of the engine and looking down. So many other pulleys. I'm going to try to run 6 degrees adv on 89 octane and see how that does.
Also, which direction do I turn the distributor to advance the timing? Clockwise or counter-clockwise?
