Can I use Shell Rotella ELC extended life coolant in my 2000 f350 , 7.3 Diesel engine? If not what do u recommend ? I have 4 gallons left over from a coolant change I'd did on my international truck which has basically the same engine in it.
Thanks
Kevin
Ok, as far as flushing old coolant out...is it ok to just use radiator drain valve and flush a couple of times with distilled water. Do I need to find an engine block drain as well or is above method sufficient? (Old fluid doesn't look to bad) just doing this because it's been five or six years! Thanks

If no prior issues and coolant still appears in good shape, I would consider flushing several times but remove the lower hose instead of just the rad plug. If it was a 6.0, little different story, pulling the engine blck drain would be a must for me with the oil cooler system sensitivity.
Not a bad idea to add an oil filter too.
I pulled the block drain plugs when I flushed mine. Not a bad idea to do it plus it's pretty easy to get to and put some teflon tape on the bolts before replacing bolts to help prevent leaks.

Ok, where is block drain plug located on 2000 7.3 Diesel?
