2005 excursion value

We have a 2005 Excursion and trying to sell it. Are we asking to much for it? Eddie bauer, V-10, 175,000, rebuilt trans, new brakes, tires, absolutely spotless, only thing wrong with it is its missing the sunglass storage door.
Is $16,000 to much? Dont want to get rid of it just don't need it anymore, but I'm not going to give it away either!!! Its just to darn nice.. Thought maybe I could ask here and get your opinions.
What is your opinions!!!
Thanks Mike

Sounds way high to me, but that's only because I've been looking for diesels and they can be found for the same amount... might want to cut that estimate in half

I just shopped for mine back in May. I agree with post above, your way high for a V10. Probably half that, but you never know. Diesels add around $5-6K or more, so keep that in mind when you look at what they're selling for.

Really $8,000. Well that will keep it here for sure. Its way to nice to sell for that kinda money. It only cost me $50 a month (LIC & Ins) to keep it here. Just thought I would sell it and invest the money in a newer Super Duty to put next to my 2004 SD only 75,000 miles bought it new. Here is a piccy of it.

I agree with the above, 16K sounds like too much for a v10 with that many miles.

Sorry, but $7-8k seems right for me as well.

Remember, no bank will foot that. It would be a cash only sale

Thanks guys!! It will stay for that kinda money. Its awesome for vacation trips. I will load the family in it right now and go anywhere with no worries. I guess it will sty in my Ford lineup. (pic below). I'm currently doing a 1979 F250 off frame restoration right now as well. Grandpa bought it brand new. I've attached a picture of it before and its current state.

Trade-in on it would probably be around $8,000.

Looking at the truck, nice and clean the way it is, you could probably sell it for closer to $9,000-$9,500, depending on the market in your area. I honestly think it's worth a little more than the $8,000 that a lot of people on here are saying. Maybe cut the listing price to $10,000 and see if you can get any nibbles, then negotiate at that point.

For a point of reference, I recently bought my 2005 6.0 4x4 Limited from a Ford dealership, with 120,000 miles on it, for $18,000. If that was a private seller, mark it down a couple grand, then subtract the premium charged for the diesel (as stated above, that's about $6,000 for the average seller), and you probably come out at close to $10,000.

The point is, if you need to sell it, the buyer will sense that and haggle mercilessly. If you just want to sell it because it's an extra vehicle that you don't need, then you can have people look at it until you find the right buyer and reject all lowball offers. I've listed nice cars for sale before, and the average Craigslist or drive by buyer is looking for a jewel at a junker's price. Had a 2002 Nissan Altima 3.5 a few years back, pretty sporty car with low mileage, it was blue booked at about $8,000, so I listed it at $7,000 to hopefully generate some interest. I had buyers calling me, asking if I would be willing to take $2,500 cash (emphasis on cash, since that seemed to be a negotiating tool that these people used, like I would jump at a cash offer, price be darned).
