Yep, the marker lights are required by law on vehicles over 80" wide, so they're required as standard equipment on DRW trucks . All DRWs will have the cab marker lights, the ID bar under the tailgate, and the marker lights on the fenders. SRW trucks are just under 80" so they're not required.
Even the Raptor has marker lights because they're over 80" wide, as well as those trucks GM made for a few years with 4 wheel steering.
having to pay over $3/gal for diesel and then having to pay another $2+/gal for the urea that is now required would put my fuel cost over $5/gal..... gonna keep my older truck without all the new crap you need for emissions.
So you burn 1 gallon of Def for every gallon of fuel burned? Obviously math isn't your best subject

If you can swing it and justify the money go for it. I guess I never noticed the new dually rear fenders is that really what they are doing? Looks like a homemade add on. There is no style to them. If you can deal with it get the ext cab better resale value and extra room is always nice.

Extended cab trucks sell for less than crew cab and regular cab trucks. Seems like nobody wants them. I know I don't.

Really? I know I would never buy another reg cab. But I now have kids that I have to drop off and pickup daily. I would have thought the market for the cab truck would be smaller
Than ext. I don't think I could ever give up the crew cab.
(Here we go with the Dodge thing again). My reg cab Dodge has a massive cab. I'm 6'5" and I don't need my seat all the way back. There's still plenty of room behind the seats for all my tools, straps, jackets, and even a 12" subwoofer in a truck box with an amp!
The Ford reg cab was much smaller. I had to have the seat all the way back, and I was still looking for more room...I felt cramped. Absolutely no room behind the seats for anything but maybe a couple straps.
The only reason I am considering the ex cab is because the reg cab is so small. If it was the size of the Dodge's, I'd go with the reg cab.
Phillips91: I know what you mean about the doors not feeling like they shut right...
I don't like crew cabs. Too big. Then, I become the taxi when my friends and I want to go somewhere because no one else has something that seats more than 3. I dealt with that with my Quad Cab Dodge
I hate to say it but I can't stand the bubble look of the DRW! It needs to go back to the box look just my 2 cents.
Is it possible to order a new truck with the boxier style fenders then the bubble?

I made a mistake and built a truck on Ford.com for the heck of it, and realized I can afford it according to their numbers and if I get book trade-in on my truck. Uh-oh
2015 F350 XL Reg cab, 6.2L, 4x4, DRW, 4.30LS, (maybe an extended cab)
-Snowplow prep (for bigger alternator and heavier springs...I don't plow)
-XL Value package (CD/MP3 player, Cruise control, chrome bumpers (I'd rather the black bumpers))
-Upfitter switches
-Skidplates
-Block heater
-40/20/40 cloth seats
Are there any incentives/rebates out right now? Will there be any better ones coming up for the holidays?
How much does the X-plan take off, if any, when having a new truck built?
I've never bought a new truck before...just used ones. I'd love to find one only a year or two old...but the truck I want is a unicorn...
If you are going with an XL, I highly recommend going with the heavy duty vinyl seats. I special ordered '14 and it's about the same truck as the one you built, but I went with a SRW because a DRW wouldn't fit in my garage. I did get a reg., but now I wish that I would of got the SC or the CC. A reg. cab is hard to haul people and dogs plus a reg. cab has very low storage inside. Also, I ordered my truck with manual crank windows, which now I wish that I would of spend the extra $890 for the electric ones. Lastly, the rear sliding window and XM radio is not an option on my XL. I went with a XL because I really wanted the vinyl seats and the carpet delete option.
The huge pickup payment and the cost of full coverage insurance sucks. But, I went new because I couldn't find a good used truck with low miles. Plus, people seem to want a premium price for their used trucks.
