ISSPRO EV2 - now THERE's a switch.

I had been tinkering with my gauges, trying to keep them down to no more than three... but I have 4 things I want to check, even if it's just once in a while. I need a boost gauge, because my MAP sensor limit is exceeded on Stinky, and I had to install a boost fooler - the OBDII port shows no more than 22 PSI. I want dual EGTs with 270 degree sweep, and I want to check the fuel pressure now and then.

I installed a DPDT switch to my Boost sensor and my Fuel Pressure sensor - with the center pins going to the 5V and signal on the gauge, and the grounds permanently wired to each other.

The sensors are both 0-5 volt, 0-100 PSI, with the only electrical difference being the gauges. I can program my 0-40 PSI gauge to read whatever I want, but I would prefer to have the 0-100 PSI gauge. What this will mean (when I'm done):

Boost won't quite reach 1/3 of the way up the gauge - a little boring, but no big deal. When I flip the switch, I'll see fuel pressure. How do I get a 0-100 PSI gauge without a sensor? I order a gauge only - it will have the kit number, but with a "G" at the end. If I order R17433G, I'll get just a gauge that says "Turbo Boost" that reads from 0-100 PSI. Clay's gettin' the call when we can work out a price.

When I'm done, I'll have a 0-40 PSI boost gauge left over. I'm sure somebody out there has a 0-30 PSI boost gauge they'd like to upgrade from, and a deal can be struck.

This is the line of thinking I like, and it is one which I am most interested for a future project. I'll be watching carefully.

Thanks, Rich, for stepping outside the box again!

I should have named the thread "Gone in 60 Minutes". I'm heading that way anyway - it saves the hassle of shipping.

You could also go with the Performax line of gauges... install the gauges you want at the time, remove them when you dont need them... Performax also has data logging so you can see and record via your laptop without even having the gauge installed.

Make sure you get the fuel pressure sensor for fuel pressure, the standard pressure sensors dont hold up long in fuel.

I still dont get your fascination with two EGT's, but its not my truck (which has two anyway so...).

Injector balance history, my trip to Reno three years ago, a UVCH incident with another member a couple of years back, loose injectors on the driver side, my current engine shake (which hasn't shown up for the last 100 miles), etc....

Can I get out and hit them with an IR thermometer? Not really - the limit is low and I won't catch anything parked. Driving with a load is when things happen.

I didn't realize Performax logged, that might have made a difference when I first looked at gauges. Is that stored in the controller, then you just hook up with a USB?

You can live stream onto your computer, or you can save the data on a jump drive and look at it later. The ESP does not save anything.

Dual needle pyro gauges are available (maybe not from ISS). I have a dual boost gauge from Hewitt Ind and may be getting a dual pyro from them as well.

I looked at those. I really wanted the 270 degree sweep - I'm goofy that way. Besides, I don't want to have to put my reading glasses on the tip of my nose while I drive. I'm good from the windshield out, but I can't read the numbers on the odo - let alone see numbers on a dual gauge or the minute needle movement.

Oh, you're right. I assumed the pyro gauge was the same as the boost gauge with both needles on the same axis using the same scale.

I looked at the Hewitt website.

Not sure I would trust a gauge company that labels its hour meter face with the word "QUARTS" when they mean "QUARTZ".
See for yourself: Hewitt Industries (Hour Meters)

That's just sloppy, and as a result, I would always wonder if I should be trusting their quality.

Sloppy. Seriously.

The PDF shows the correct spelling on the face, so at least the tech writer got it.

For that to happen, many things have to fail on many levels. The guy setting the print for the face has to screw up, then they don't catch it in manufacturing, QC drops it, the photographer can't spell, and the one making the website doesn't even proof the page. This looks more like a Photoshop error to me.
