electrical issue
"Once again we have saved the world from the forces of EVIL!!!"

* or at least, stray voltage....

You should rep RV TECH, he seems to be tireless at helping resolve issues like this. Sometimes it may seem that he and I bang our horns together like a pair of rocky mountain rams, but what is really going on is a check and balance thing with the advice we hand out.
"If THIS is true, is THAT true?" and so on...
When I can, I like to tin wire ends for connectors like that with a solder pencil, so that they are best protected and make solid connections. A wire end bent in a hook and THEN tinned helps prevent strand by strand breaking and corrosion. It also LOOKS neater
Even better is to solder wires into spade or loop connectors and use a short bit of heat shrinkable tube to seal them
Crimp type connectors and wire nuts at wire ends may be simple and fast to install, but they don't have the lasting effect of a true solder joint and solid mechanical connection.
They are also prone to water wicking, and thus - corruption
