It's taken six and a half years and a buttload of money to get to this point, but it starts, drives and stops. Mostly starts anyway. Apparently my alternator is not charging the battery. The horn doesn't work and there are no emergency brake cables yet either. But she runs! Time for a recreational beverage.

It's just a little darker than the Bronco's. Except in all the spots I've already scratched it. Touch up will wait till next year. Looking perfect is way down the list.
Wow, looks great! And I bet those mirrors allow you see behind about 100 times better than the little 4" round ones that go on the hinge pins. So far I have them, but ones like yours would be a lot safer in my opinion. I may end up with something like that even though they may not look as pretty.
Nice job on it, and the paint looks good.
Just how stock is it other than mirrors and paint?
I wanted people to see 1952 when I drive by, but I didn't want to drive 1952. It's got a 302, AOD trans, 9" w/3.89s, toyota power steering, power brakes disc/drum and reupholstered seat with lots more padding.
I've always liked the look of these big mirrors, but I really need to work on adjusting the mounts. I have a great view of from running board to the top of the bedside. The redone seat sits a lot taller and might have something to do with it. I need to find a way to raise them up some or just angle them. I was really surprised how little view you get with the stock rear view mirror.

It was either o'reillys or autozone. I did alright drilling the holes for mounting them. I didn't even cry!. But then having to hammer in the plastic inserts cracked the paint around the holes. Oh well, I learned to paint by buying the guns and did it in the garage.
I like the color combo! Congrats on getting it rolling!
I have similar mirrors on similar mounts, I think you need to raise the mirrors to get the right view. But even so, I have to lean over to get the view on the DS. Just as well, at night headlights would really light me up.
I didn't think about headlights behind me with those big mirrors. I'll have to keep that in mind.
Right now she's reminding of all the little things I didn't think about ahead of time. The funniest was when I discovered I had drilled the holes to mount the accelerator pedal before I had the brake pedal hung. I ended up cutting the brake pedal in half because it covered up the gas. I have definitely learned to keep a sense of humor.
