Need help identifying this axle

Would like to get this right the first time.

If I'm going to keep this Tow Truck I'll need a taller set of gears in the rear axle. 55 mph Max is just not enough for me and if one of my boys happens to drive it they'll surely bring it back with a sucked valve.

This is from the door plate

F37YRP41683
W.O. 135
Color M
Model F374
Body 4B8
Trans A
Axle 28
Max Towing 10,000
Net HP 156
RPM 4000
DSO 72

It is completely original at this point so I tend to believe the valve cover engine information which is telling me I have a 360 cu.in. FE block

If anyone can steer me in the proper direction as to what gear set to order for the rear axle to increase the drivability of this beast I sure would appreciate it.

And no I don't plan on doing any towing with it as I have a 2014 Ram 2500 4x4 with the Cummins in it. Would be nice as a project for a nostalgic weekend driver and that is where my thoughts are leading with it

ON EDIT

Sorry guys - I should have used Google first. I see it is a Dana 70 with 4:56 gear set. Question still stands what should I do for a taller set of gears

If you look on the rear end center section, there should be an identification tag that can be decoded to find your rear end gear ratio etc.

Gear options abound. I'd opt for a 3.54.

Thanks for the recommendation and the link. I'll be ordering the 3:54 set.

In order to install 3.54 gears in your F350's Dana 70, you will also need to change the differential case.

Dana 70 wasn't available with 3.54 gears until 1983. 1961/82: 3.73 - 4.10 - 4.56 - 4.88 - 5.13

Dana 70 rear axle ID tag located under 2 of the bolts that retains the inspection cover to the housing, but...

Today, many of these tags are missing.

In that case you may be better off with 3.73s.

Same problemo with 3.73 & 4.10 gears, the case is different than with 4.56 - 4.88 - 5.13 gears.

In that case, things just got more complicated anyway. Get 3.54s and the right case.

Thanks for the information Bill - you saved me quite a bit of frustration

It also appears that the 4:56 was not the smallest ratio for that rear end either

On Edit -

Yes I downloaded the manual from Dana's website and it shows 5 different versions of the Dana 70 axle with 3 different amounts of offset between axis of the ring and pinion

Here is the information off the axle

On the right side - the date of manufacture is ( 5 16 202)

next to that according to Dana's parts manual is the part # 603201 14

along the left side where the ratio tag should be we found

02TA - HCA
603201-14
4.56
