Need help in Axle identification

Front will be a Dana 44, if it's a 4x4, and the rear is probably a 9". I've seen Dana 44's in the rear on late 70's trucks, too. Best bet is to describe the axle. Is there an access cover on the rear with a fill plug about halfway up? Or is it solid looking from the back?

Look at the vehicle tag on the door jam and post the axle code. along with a description. Someone should be able to help. I may be wrong, but I think all F100's came with a 9" rear alxe. The 2 axle shafts engage into gears in the differential. They are splined on the end, as are the gears where they engage. If you need to change an axle shaft for some reason, be careful because the # of splines can be different on 2 different shafts.

My axle code is 06, which somebody in this forum deciphered as 2.75 gear ratio. I am trying to price a 3.55 or 3.73 gear ratio. I think my axle is 9", but I will post back with how the back of the pumpkin looks like.
