Maybe will be able to acquire another '52 if the $$ is right . Would be a major job time & $$ wise to restore this heap . Not much any good sheet metal wise .Fenders could be made good . I see a parting out job .Running bds. have major holes . Six cyl. is not complete . If I can get it for the right price it will be dragged home . Any thought as to an asking price ? I say no more than $500 .
Also have 3/4 of a tube left of CRL windshield butyl rubber caulking left from the stock truck build if any one is at the glass install stage . Will update this salvage at a later date after contact with the people that are selling it .I believe I could make some $$ on parts .It is a 7 hr. ride one way & will need to be trailered back . ROAD TRIP !!
The pictures don't show much actual condition. It does appear to be unmolested, just neglected. I would think long and hard about driving 14 hours for it without seeing some very detailed pictures. How about the doors, windshield lower corners, floor pans? Title match the frame?
Peering through my Rust Belt goggles, I see lots to like. Assuming the frame hasn't been one with the earth, this truck is at least a parts donor. Take the drive and take your wallet. $500 to $750
Received a reply from the truck owner .No road trip to save another'52 in the near future .She must be smoking some quality crack in Havana , Fla Asking $5000.00 . Give me an efin break .Paid $2K for the stock truck & it was in 10 times better shape than that rust heap .Maybe when she comes down from her high she will need some more $$ for crack.$500 will go along way . I do know what it takes to make a '52 presentable . Done 2 of them .
I've bought a few parts trucks that the seller started.in the $3000-5000 range. I ended up getting them for $300-500. Most thought their "classic" was gold plated because saw vehicles like theirs sell on the intdrni for thousands. Once I showed them I wasn't interested and started to walk away they dropped their price considerably. Still, a 7 hour is too long to take a chance the seller will come down to reality.
Will be thru there again in April & Sept '15 Take along some dough ( $500 is the limit) & see what happens .Any one care to wager it is still the there ? I bet she wishes she had the 500 in hand this winter .Will email every month or so and ask about the trucks location . Sitting out in the parking lot is what I will hear often .
