I was ocd about prep on mine, sanded everything then washed with water, let it dry then sanded again, after that washed it again, waited for it to dry out then cleaned it out with asetone, let it sit for a while and did it again then started to paint with a freind mixing as I painted to keep it mixed evenly, after putting on 3 coats I did not put anything in the bed for about 2 weeks until it dryed completley. It actually felt exactly the same as the spray in liner in my dads tundra. After the two weeks I started using the bed again and it held up amazing considering how I was using it, but my bed was wrecked (not the liner, the driver side bed side was dented very badly) about 2 weeks after I started using it again...
