Yes. The lifting lug uses the bolt/studs in the manifold. I used a kit of arp studs for a small block ford intake because the bolts are the same size. And btw you are very welcome. Anytime

Any chance you have the part number for the ARP kit?
It seems to me it would be better balanced with the 'big loop' more towards the center of the engine as in the first picture. Hmm..
Yes. It is better balanced with the loop toward the rear. If you were to flip the hole towards the front, it would cause the balance to be off because there is a bend on the bottom of the lug so that it will be further toward the center of the engine. With the lug turned around, the engine will want to tilt at a 45 degree angle from side to side in addition to the normal tilt from front to back.
Yeah, I never used the lifting lug anyway as I went with a couple bolts on each end... Now I use it to grab onto when hauling my butt up into the engine bay.
I just know that with it forward is where it was on stock EFI'd 4.9L's. Although on a carb setup it would make sense to have it reversed and centre more.
two bolts on each end? Where? I'm trying to find the best way to lift the engine out (and install the new one) with the transmission attached (4-speed) Good lifting points are a must; hence the thought to use the lifting lug.
I have used the lug to lift my engine that I converted from efi to carb with the zf five speed attached to it. You will be fine using the lug you have to lift your engine and trans combo.
