Oil pressure sending unit number

Hello all,

Been a while. We're nearing completion on the 66 project, it's been at the paint shop and he's re-assembling things. I replaced the original dash cluster with a multi gauge model I think was from a Custom cab, Camper Special or Ranger. Please don't quote me on that but I remember seeing the instrument cluster in an ad for one of them.

Anyhow, I need the part number for the oil pressure sending unit. It's an electrical gauge but shows the pressure like a mechanical one. I forgot all about getting this part and now the shop needs one.

Thanks for the help.

Don't have a p/n but all you need to ask for is a sending unit for a gauge vs a light. It's several times bigger than the one for the light, so physically it's pretty easy to tell the difference. Any auto parts store should carry one.

The original setup actually uses both sending units so that the idiot light will still function. You just need a junction block to thread both into. Most better parts stores have a bin of brass fittings and you can probably find one there.

Installed both in the 65 using a brass 'T' and a steel 1/4" threaded pipe approx. 3" long. Originally used a brass 1/4" threaded pipe but found, over time, engine vibration caused the brass pipe to develop cracks. Over the years purchased both sending units thru local NAPA auto parts.

Traveling down interstate at around 70 mph when the 'idiot light' came-on and shortly after my initial panic noticed the oil pressure gauge was fine and decided to waited until the next turn off.

1965/66 F100/250 2WD Custom Cab/Ranger "sweep speedo" instrument cluster came with fuel and temp gauges as standard equipment. The oil pressure and amp gauges were optional.

With the optional oil pressure gauge, two sending units are required, one for the warning light, another for the gauge.

Both of these sending units thread into this: C5TZ-9B339-B .. Fitting-Oil Sending Units / Obsolete

NOS ONLY in San Jose CA has 2 = 800-667-6659.

OBSOLETE RELIABLE PARTS in Nashville GA has 2 = 229-686-5101.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 14 = 800-543-4959.
