Can someone help ID these windows, and where I might find replacements,...or get one fixed/replaced.
I bought this van used quite awhile back and never had any problems with breakage. Then just yesterday some jerk decided to make my life difficult by breaking one of my side windows and my windshield.
Windshields are pretty std stuff, but these side windows are obviously some sort of custom jobs.
Oops I so new to this forum I can not post photos yet??
I remember those windows but don't think I have seen them on any new van in well over 20 years. A lot of window styles and mfrs have come and gone; my van is a conversion which came with factory glass and I like that.
What I would do is just start googling and see what's out there. I remember an internet site that had many different styles of current and older conversion van running boards (they were not cheap). No recollection what it was. There is probably at least one of those somewhere in a box in the USA, but finding it is not gonna be easy.
The only other solution is going to larger windows that are currently available but that might require interior work and that is a hassle.
JWA is an auto glass guy by trade and a van lover and maybe he'll have some more knowledge.
I did some googling, and found a couple of sites I will explore more tomorrow. But I have rain coming in the next day after tomorrow, so have to do something temp for a few days.
I kind of wonder if the glass alone can be replaced,....by the way its made,...and by the curvature of the glass.
Sure would like to get my hands on that jerk that broke it
That looks like THE right resource to have found. I have had rare cars when I was younger and part searches were a huge pain before the Internet existed. Something like conversion van windows is even tougher because there would have been many companies involved, designs lasted only a short time, and nothing was very standard.
Good job on the Intermet search. I will remember this thread in case someone else asks about this kind of thing.
If you get your window fixed, maybe post a followup about how well it went.
