I'll add some long term results, I've had Dot5 in my 73 Triumph since 2000, I had replaced everything then, lines, master cylinder, brake cylnders in rear and rebuilt the front caliper pistons, switched to Dot5. I've flushed it twice since then just as a PM. I've put about 7500 miles on it in 14 years with no problems.
In my 52 I redid the brakes, lines, cylinders etc in 2007 and went to Dot5, someone mentioned the brake light switch being likely to fail, so I carry a spare but so far no issues. The truck really hasn't been used since last fall since I've ripped it apart but no issues up to then.
I also had it in a Metropolitan from 1993 to 2000 when I sold it with no problems either.
