Bare with me I'm having issues posting more than one pic at a time from mobile.
This is what they look like when they are removed. To give you an idea of what they look like from behind. And what holds them in (clips marked with red circles)
And the other clips not marked, hold the vent itself together. You may want to completely disassemble to paint.
Another hint. When putting them back in, line each of the 4 clips on vent with the clips on the four corners. NOT top, bottom, left, right.
You'll know if you get it wrong because if you pull on the vent after you reinstall it. The vent will wiggle in the dash.
And for the right side dash vent. It needs to be pried out from the front. I used a screwdriver (junkyard dash) but I have plastic pry bars that I will use on my truck.
You'll need to work your way all the way around with your pry bar on this one.
I have a thread on here that shows how to take the whole dash apart. You don't need to take out the headlight switch. You can also order the black vent pieces. I found a guy on here and switched him everything in the truck that I could

It takes 3 seconds to take out the headlight switch. Why would you take the whole dash apart? Can you get all four at once that way?
Could you post the link?
I got mine out of a junkyard truck and I'm still waiting for my ordered truck to come in. I know how to swap them out but I'm always up for a better/faster way to do it when I get my truck.
I was also going to take the vents apart and use the matte black outer rings from the black vents and use the silver inner louver from the chrome vents.
I'll at least try it to see how it looks.
