2007 6.0
I'm looking at ugrading to a 2007 Single Axle 6.0. Since I'm no expert on the 6.0 I'm assuming the last year of the 6's are probably a better set up.
It certainly is a better driving truck and feels night and day with the power it has.
So far what I know is the heads have been restudded, Exhaust has been upgraded to a free flow system, and re mapping has been done as well.
EGR is still there an original.
Can anyone provide me with anymore feed back of 2007 years vs. the early 6.0's?
During my test drive I did hook up my scangauge to it and everything appeared to run fine. The truck has 114K miles on it.

'03- original first year.
'04- Diamond like coating on the fuel injectors.
'04 1/2 got redesigned oil rails, piston domes and glow plugs changed, ICP relocated, and a different part number (but same design) high pressure oil pump and the problematic EGR cooler.
'05 got a redesigned oil pump. The problematic STC (Snap To Connect) fitting on a newly redesigned high pressure oil pump. And a different part number IPR valve.
'06- pretty much the same except changes to the cylinder heads and valve hardware for "commonization" in preparation of the 6.4 going into production. Still has weak EGR cooler and STC fitting.
'07- pretty much the same except the E series vans get a support bracket for the STC fitting.
'08-'09- E series van/utility installs only. STC fitting replaced with a one piece branch tube connector. (The new part retrofits nicely on the '05 and up engines)
I'm not sure what year got the updated standpipes and dummy plugs. They may be in the '07's already.
Same thing with the updated fuel pressure spring.
Same thing with turbo oil supply and drain lines.
I probably missed a thing or three but those are the most discussed items. So an '07 could benefit from a aftermarket EGR cooler (or delete) and an STC fitting replacement. And maybe the stand pipes and dummy plugs. The turbo oil lines and fuel pressure regulator should be in it already.
It sounds like a good truck the low miles and all the weaknesses were dealt with but don't know if the 07 benefit from blue spring mod or they come with it and the STC modification.
I have noticed a difference in the few 6.0 powered vehicles I have driven. Compared to others, for example, mine seems unusually slow to boost up from a dead start if you tip into the throttle too far too fast. It's oh s#*t! Slow if you take off wrong. To get away quick requires a certain timing (or boost up against the brakes first
I've only done that a couple times, honest!). But once it starts rolling just a little and boost comes up just a bit it's time to lift a little as it will often break traction before it shifts to second gear and may come loose again after the shift if you stay in it. Other trucks I've driven seem somewhat more tolerant of stomping the go pedal and power comes on more predictably and smoothly. Also I'm a fan of the '05 and up trucks with the coil springs in the front. Leafs are a tough, proven set up but the coils give them different manners, and the tighter turning radius helps when your getting in a tight spot in a parking lot or job site.
The exhaust was also done on this and sounds pretty bad azz. You first start it and sounds like a diesel, then walk behind it and your hearing air, almost sounds like a supercharger. Get in stomp on it and it has the deep throaty diesel sound. It blows no smoke.
So sounds like its the same things as the earlier 6.0's, Just would need to figure out which mods have been done and which haven't been.

As in Blue Spring?.... I just changed mine out two days ago; the original spring was shorter. But, if I am tracking, Ford-at some point-made a better fuel pressure spring???
