Is this for a wiper or heater or other?

Buy a modern switch and add the old style ****.

This high/low heater switch should work on other accessories.

You should be able to find one that will fit. If not, you could epoxy a **** to the stem, just remember you might need to remove it some time.

I would just imagine that somewhere out there, there is a 3 position switch for headlights that can be used as:

Off - Hi beam-Lo Beam

And then a separate switch to control the dimmer.

Could you use the park light section of a switch to control the low beam function?

Universal Headlight Switch With Hi/Low - Speedway Motors, America's Oldest Speed Shop

There it is........ shows my inexperience dealing with this stuff I guess.

I wonder if a rocker like this could be used with the stock lights to control the high/low beam function.

I just want to get away from the foot switch, and don't want to spend the extra hundred or so on a dimmer switch on the column.

How about this?

Headlight Switch - 4 Position Push-Pull We Make Wiring THAT Easy!

You might be able to get an old-style **** to fit.

Edit: You beat me to it.

Now another question is can you power your fog lights through it as well as headlights.

That small rocker switch above looks so clean!

You can run a ton of items off the one switch if you really want to but just make sure to run the different light circuits (or other load) through separate relays.

I don't think that a headlight switch will work as I think that the heater switches have a resistor in them for the low fan speed. I guess that you could use a headlight switch if you wired in a resistor but why bother when as EffieTrucker has shown there are ample supplies of new heater switches. As to which **** to use that really depends upon your heater. There were many different styles and most were added on by the dealer (heaters were an option). Maybe "firstrider" will chime in here as he is our heater expert.

I'm not sure that you need relays if your truck is stock. If you are adding high watt head lights or fog lights most kits come with relays. But if you are doing this on your own then NAPA and AutoZone have many different types listed it depends upon your wiring and fuse block and current draw.

If you are switching over to LED lighting the current draw is so minor that I would not bother with a relay. Your switches should be able to handle the current without overheating.
