fuel pressure regulator

Has anyone ever heard of a fuel pressure regulator going bad on a 7.3 and causing it to stall after about 30 miles of driving and having 60 psi fuel pressure at start up?

All there is in the regulator is a valve and spring. Are you checking fuel pressure while driving?

The fuel filter is brand new . now its unpredictable I thought that it was just doing it on the front tank. I had it running on the rear and run it up and down the interstate and it ran good I shut it off and then tried to go to town still on the rear tank and I got maybe 3-4 miles and it sputtered out and died so its doing it on both tanks and it is unpredictable when its going to do it could be 100 miles or 3 any ideas?

Well then I would think possibly air intrusion. But that's not the easiest thing to find. It will be somewhere between the selector valve and the pump. Probably on the quick connect by the motor or the small price of rubber hose between the hard line and the pump

it won't be on the pressure side if it's air intrusion. It would have to be on the suction side. The best way to tell if it's your problem is a clear hose and look for bubbles but idk where you would put it
