I just bought seat covers for my 07 F 150 single cab. Because the seat belts are integrated into the seats, I had to buy seat covers that are made for that application. I was able to remove the nut that anchors the seat belt to the frame on drivers side with no problem. When I attempted same procedure on passenger side, I see that I must also disconnect a wire that runs from seat belt to some kind of harness mounted to bottom of seat, which I assume is some kind of safety switch. Can I disconnect the switch without deploying the passenger air bag? I know this is a dumb question, but I don't know much about this kind of thing. I sure could use some advice. Instructions that came with seat covers doesn't mention anything at all about this. Thanks
I noticed my truck has a light for "passenger airbag disabled" that comes on when no one is sitting in that seat. The wire must be part of that circuit.
