Dash Cluster with gauges - replacement
Upon further inspection a couple of the gauges were in poor shape (rusted). After not finding any individual replacement gauges, I decided to do some shopping on eBay for the whole cluster. I bought one that seemed to be a match. It looks like it will need a new plastic front cover though. That will be another $20 plus shipping. I should have stopped there but kept looking and came across one that looks almost brand new. Had about 7,000 miles on the clock. It may have spun over or been reworked but it sure looks good and the price was... much less than the other I just bought.
So now, I got two coming my way. One of them will have the harness plug and some wires in it that was cut off from the donor so that should help with bench testing. The circuit board number on the back for both of them are exactly the same as what I pulled out of my truck. I'll probably try and use the one from the Econoline but wanted to check with the experts here if I am going to have any surprises or things to watch out for? I'm doing this backwards I know. I looked in the stickies and did a search and thought I had read some place the ones from these vans up until late 80's should interchange but cannot seem to find it to confirm.
Am I correct? Any tips for bench testing besides hooking up a ground and a 12v source?
I'll probably have a spare here pretty soon

Thank you
