And any amount of Biodiesel use will increase DEF usage. BioDiesel creates more Nox so that sensors tell the truck to dump more urea... And sometimes you don't even realize you are using BioDiesel. I have personally seen FLying J's and Pilots that have a little note on the pump that says may contain up to 10% (or 20%) Biodiesel.
My 2011 seemed to get around 800-1000 miles per gallon. I don't know about the 2015 yet. I have "topped" it off because I wasn't sure the dealer did, but oif course that isn't a good measurement until next time I top it off. In addition, it is routinely below freezing now, so I am sure the DEF is frozen solid. Since a lot of my trips the temp gauges never move before I shut the truck off I am not sure the DEF is being thawed out and used. (There is coding to prevent a CEL for no DEF usage in cold weather conditions).
Ohh and running BIo in my 2011, I noticed less regens than not running it. Obviously, where I moved to, you can't run Bio even if you wanted to... Too cold. We don't even run Ethanol in gas because it is too cold.
My truck has just north of 2,400 miles, the last time I was in it, I flipped through the info screen and it said the DEF was less than 1/2 full...I'll top it off when I get back to the house and see.
