Suggestions/Past Experience?

So, complying with UGA33's demands, I am finally ready to do my headstuds, gaskets, 6.4 banjo bolts, updated water drain for the HFCM, STC fitting update for the HPOP, updated turbo oil lines, oil cooler, stand pipes, dummy plugs, lifters, true EGR delete (the previous owner had it welded shut so it would still appear legal), and upfitters (for the elevated idle).... Does anyone have any other suggestions, opinions, past experience, or past problems doing this? Everything but the head studs, and egr delete are OEM FORD components courtesy of white bear lake ford (lowest prices i could find online). I have read A LOT of these forums and there is a lot of different information to take in and consider. So anything you can give me would be appreciated. Would anyone consider Fluidampr? I am personally skeptical... seems like snake oil...

I just did the same thing with a few exceptions. The one thing I would recommend is replacing the oil cooler while you are there. Not that much more work and it can save you headache down the road.

Might as well do a good flush and add elc.
Only fuidamper im familiar with is harmonic dampers, not sure why you would want to change that.

Thanks for the input, and yes the fluidampr harmonic damper was the one I was speaking of; I had read in a couple of places that it was good to install one and they "claim" you are losing 10hp with the OEM damper... Like I said it seems like horse poop to me, just curious if anyone here had tried it. I am most certainly planning on a good flush with VC-9 and going with Rotella ELC. I have seen several posts where guys were flushing before the oil cooler change and some were flushing after?? Any input?

They do pick up hp on gassers for sure. Dont see the need on 6.0 personally. Use that money on tunes.
On the flush do it before the cooler change.

When I do mine I am going to have one of the exhaust manifolds drilled and tapped for an EGT probe.

Also, most guys are putting exhaust manifold gaskets on. I was thinking about also getting new manifold bolts.

Cleaning and painting while the heads are being checked.

I appreciate the input fellas. EGT pyro gauge is high on my list of things to do. I have the scangauge II but I need an EGT gauge. I will add exhaust gaskets and bolts to my list especally because I was under the truck yesterday and I believe there is a small leak around #5. Painting would be nice, what kind of high temp paint are you considering CPB1?

Not sure, the manifolds I would probably do black. The heads maybe blue or orange. Like you I see some evidence of the manifolds leaking but I have it on multiple cylinders. I also have the exhaust smell in the cab when the heater is on. When I do mine I was thinking clean and paint so I could see more clearly if there was a leak of some sort.

We use the silver BBQ grill paint on manifolds. It holds up considerably well. I just hate doing anything black. Black hides everything. I like to see. Lol.
