The reproduction sender does NOT work correctly with the original gauge. Been there, tried that. Find a NOS or used stock sender if you can....

Putting 12v through the stock 6v sender system will burn it up in short order. I promise.

Correct, you need to reduce voltage to the gauge back down to 6 if used in a 12v system.

I bought the replacement sender from Dennis Carpenter and used it (with a reducer) on my 48, and got the gauge working.

I would recommend it, but a couple of hours ago it suddenly stopped working. I haven't figured out why yet.

B5AF-9275-A .. 6V Fuel Sending Unit / Obsolete

1948/52 F1/F8 Conventional Cabs / 1948/52 F5/F6 COE / 1953/55 F100/800.

This is not a repro, it's NOS and it was FoMoCo's "service part replacement" for the original senders.

It does not come with the float and rod, these have to be taken off the original and installed on this sender.

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY has 1 = 606-878-5293.

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 2 = 800-476-9653.
