Alright trying to find a motorcraft solenoid for my grandpa's 84 f250 7.5l. Cause it doesn't want to start some time I've tried looking for older ones can't seem to find any with 4 post. Thanks guys appreciate it.
A quick look at the NAPA website/parts-store shows plenty of 4 post remote starter solenoids (NAPA/Echlin brand). I use this brand have not had any issues.
Motorcraft SW1951C or Standard Motor Products SS598T.
Napa's number is ECH ST404
Yea I tried to Motorcraft on my 88 did very well but It needs another post so which is better the echlin or standard motor products. Cause once it warms up it doesn't want to start again
The other post on your 460 equipped truck primes the fuel pumps while it's cranking. You should be able to plug in a older truck from the 70's and get this solenoid. It's very common on the older trucks, since they use it for a resistor bypass for the ignition coil.
Yep, most '70's style (barrel) will work.
The three I listed look just like the one in your truck, but with an 'I' terminal.
As Dave said, retard should be built into the harness of any truck up to '87.
