Short Bed Conversion
I have a 1970 long bed and will be cutting it down. Does anyone know how much under the cab and how much on the end? I've seen an older post that someone cut 16" from behind the cab but that is the whole difference on a long bed.

A long bed is longer in front of the wheel well and behind the wheel well. You have to shorten the bed on both sides of the wheel well in order for it to be like an original short bed. Or be a little different and leave the aft side alone so it is a little longer. I think it would be cool.

Are you talking box or frame? For the frame you need 16" out of the wheelbase (cut behind the cab) and 4" off the back end of the frame.
